As long as we can remember, our periods have not only been referred to as a curse, but felt like one as well.
Monthly, our bodies go through a cycle of build up, growth and release that not only ties us into the rhythms of the natural world around us, but also contains the power to create life. Menstruation is no small thing and yet, it can hold a lot of shame and a lot of physical discomfort. Both of those things have contributed greatly to this notion that our monthly period is a curse.
Our Mission
The Pampered Period Box’s intention is three fold:
- Curate monthly products that
- Open up new possibilities for you to nourish your menstrual health in a manner that encourages you to embrace your body, its natural processes and challenges as well as,
- Shower you with pampering products that will absolutely be lush and fun, but also and most importantly, encourage you to stop, take even the smallest amount of timeout of your day to just pay attention to yourself, care for yourself and have a moment of rest.
Because here is the secret truth: Self Care isn’t about manicures and face masks, though they can certainly be an integral part of self care. Self Care is about the time you take for you, the quality of attention you pay yourself, your needs and the nourishment of both your body and your life. And our monthly period subscription box is about giving you the doorway into this deepening self care.
This doesn’t mean that if you love your body and embrace it’s natural processes that you won’t have any health, pain or cycle issues. It’s about an orientation that embraces exactly who you are, how you are right now. It’s about cultivating love in the verb sense of the word: How do we actively love ourselves during a tender, vulnerable and cleansing period of our month.
Our mission is to address all those aspects of self care through our blog and our monthly period subscription box and begin to lead us back into a space where our periods aren’t a curse as much as a chance to stop, pay attention, and tend to the needs of our bodies, our hearts and our minds with growing love for ourselves.
